Muse basics · 6
What can it actually do?+
Answer questions, complete multi-step tasks, browse the web, generate images, create documents, and — via Connectors — work inside your apps: summarize email, manage your calendar, book restaurants, track spending through Plaid, build workouts from wearable data. It can also set reminders, track long-term goals, and monitor things for you in the background. Browse the task library to see it in action.
How does it work?+
Muse runs on a dedicated, secure virtual machine with its own browser — effectively its own computer. You chat with it like texting (Muse app, web, or WhatsApp); it builds an action plan, works through the steps, and shows you an audit trail of everything it did or plans to do. Connect apps to give it abilities; approvals keep it from acting without you.
Is it free?+
Yes, free with a usage limit — use it lightly and you may never pay. Heavy use needs a paid subscription, and signup requires a payment card. Exact tiers and prices move, so check muse.ai for current numbers before deciding.
Is it safe?+
Meta built in real protections: logins sit in a credential store Muse itself can’t read, shopping uses one-time card numbers so merchants never see your real card, eligible purchases carry Link protections, and your conversations aren’t shared with Meta’s ad systems. That said, stay sharp: there have been reports of over-broad message access, human contractors handling test-phase phone calls, and Amazon blocking agentic checkout. The rule is simple — connect read-only first, approve everything else, revoke anytime. We track each development in the changelog.
Does it keep working after I close the app?+
Yes. Ask it to monitor something (prices, weather, your inbox, a goal) and it keeps working in the background on its own machine, pinging you only when there’s something worth surfacing. Closing the app pauses nothing.
Does it ask before acting?+
Yes — before sending messages, making purchases or bookings, and sharing information with connected apps. You can allow once, always allow, or deny, and you can change the default permissions for every connector at any time. Anything it does lands in the audit trail so you can review it after.
Getting started · 4
Who runs GetMuseHelp?+
An independent Muse setup guide. Every page shows its verification date, and Meta's official source is always ai.meta.com/muse.
How do I start with Muse?+
Join at muse.ai/join (or the iOS/Android app, or WhatsApp), grab our referral code from the button top-right and redeem it in Muse Settings within 48 hours for bonus tokens, then follow the 2-minute start flow to point your Muse at this site.
Who can join Muse?+
18+, US-only at launch (September 2026). Expansion plans live on Meta's official pages — we update the changelog when that changes.
How is a personal agent different from a chatbot?+
A chatbot answers one question at a time. Muse takes real actions across the web and your connected apps, works through multi-step tasks on its own, and keeps running in the background after you close the app.

How much does Muse cost?+
Free with usage limits; a paid subscription buys more. Check Meta's official pages for current pricing — it moves.
How does the referral code work?+
Redeem our code (the button, top-right) in Muse Settings within 48 hours of joining and we both get Muse tokens. You redeem it inside Muse — we never see who uses it. Full disclosure on the Affiliates page.

Is it safe to connect my bank and email?+
Connect read-only first, approve sends and purchases one by one, revoke anytime in Muse → Connectors. Never paste bank passwords into chat — banks connect via Plaid OAuth. Start with each connector's safety box.
Does this site see my data?+
No. No accounts, no logins, cookie-free analytics. Setup happens between you and Muse — never through us. Details in the Privacy Policy.

App, web, or WhatsApp — which is best?+
Approvals and the full audit trail live in the app and web. WhatsApp is great for quick asks on the go. Start where you chat most.
I hit the free usage limit. Now what?+
Wait for the refresh or upgrade to paid. Still stuck on a setup issue? Check Fix a problem or book a human setup call.

Muse vs Meta AI vs Muse Spark — what's what?+
Muse is the personal agent that goes off and does work. Meta AI is the assistant you ask things. Muse Spark is the model family underneath. Even Zuckerberg says he uses both Muse and Meta AI and they may converge over time.
How do I stop Meta training on my chats?+
Open Muse Settings → data controls → turn off anything like "help improve our AI models." Do it in your first 60 seconds. Labels move around, so confirm in-app.
What do the paid plans cost?+
Press reports put Power around $20/mo and Maximum around $100/mo on top of the free tier. Confirm current pricing inside the app before budgeting — it moves.
Can Muse make phone calls for me?+
No — not yet. Tasks that need a call (plan downgrades, appointments) stop at the dial: Muse preps everything, you talk.
Can it watch things and work on a schedule?+
Yes — its best trick. Price trackers, 5am inbox triage, refill reminders. Set it once as a goal and it pings you when something changes.
Why did Muse confidently invent details?+
Agents hallucinate: fake phone numbers, closed restaurants, wrong dates. Verify anything consequential yourself and keep approvals switched on.
Is Muse usable with a screen reader?+
Partially — early testers report gaps in chat structure, announcements, and unlabeled controls, and Meta is iterating. If you rely on assistive tech, keep approvals extra tight and send feedback through the app.
